Stoltenberg: NATO, EU stand united in supporting Ukraine

NATO and the European Union stood united in supporting Ukraine nearly a year since the invasion started, saying the transatlantic partnership and support for Ukraine will continue to strengthen in 2023, says NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at a joint press conference with the President of the EU Council and the President of the European Commission, APA reports citing teletrader.com.

Stoltenberg highlighted the importance of the EU-NATO declaration signed earlier today, emphasizing the crucial role of NATO in Euroatlantic security. He noted that this declaration builds upon two previous joint declarations in 2016 and 2018.

Furthermore, Stoltenberg touched upon the prospect of Norway and Sweden joining NATO, stating that this would result in the alliance protecting 96% of EU citizens, therefore ensuring the bloc protects Europe from external threats.
