Sunak said to lobby in US for Wallace to become NATO chief

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is reportedly preparing to use his visit to the United States to advocate for United Kingdom Defense Minister Ben Wallace to take up the mantle as NATO chief after Jens Stoltenberg leaves the position this fall, according to the Telegraph, APA reports.

During his two-day trip to Washington this week, the prime minister is expected to continue lobbying for Wallace, just as he did on the margins of the G7 meeting in Hiroshima last month, as per the report.

Wallace has recently warned Moscow that it risks “losing everything” if it does not pull out of Ukraine, while Sunak reiterated that London stands with Kyiv, pledging long-term support toward its NATO future.
