Tajikistan and Italy Establish Visa-Free Regime for Diplomatic Passport Holders

DUSHANBE— Tajikistan and Italy have agreed to implement a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports, a move aimed at facilitating easier travel and strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

According to Trend News Agency, the new agreement is set to take effect on October 14, following the completion of necessary internal procedures by both countries. This arrangement will allow citizens of Tajikistan and Italy who hold diplomatic passports to enter, stay, and move freely within each other’s territories for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The visa-free deal was officially signed on April 23, 2024, during Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Italy, symbolizing a significant step in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
