Tajikistan and Namibia Forge New Diplomatic Ties at UN General Assembly


NEW YORK — In a significant expansion of their international relations, Tajikistan and Namibia have formally established diplomatic ties, a move announced during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.



According to Trend News Agency, the official establishment of relations was marked by the signing of a joint communiqué by Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Namibia’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Peya Mushelenga. The ceremony underscored the mutual commitment to enhancing bilateral and multilateral relationships, providing both nations with new avenues for cooperation and partnership.



This diplomatic milestone for Tajikistan is part of its broader foreign policy strategy, having established relations with over 180 countries in the past three decades and joining 57 international and regional organizations. The new relationship with Namibia is expected to open doors to numerous cooperative endeavors across various sectors.
