TAP to be expanded after 2023

The Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), which delivers Azerbaijani gas to Europe, will transport gas at full capacity (currently 10 billion cubic meters per year) in 2022 and 2023, and 8 bln. cubic meters of this volume will fall on share of Italy, Executive Director of TAP Luca Schieppati said, APA-Economics reports.

Speaking about the potential additional capacity of the pipeline Luca Schieppati noted that TAP currently transports 10 bln. cubic meters of gas, and will transport additional 500 mln. cubic meters of gas in a short time.

According to Luca Schieppati, after signing agreements, 40 months will be required for infrastructure investments and for other works to double the capacity of the pipeline more than 50 months will be required.
