The retaliatory measures taken by the Azerbaijani Army to prevent provocation launched by the Armenian armed forces in the Kelbajar region on the night of July 28 are underway, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reported.
“Our units have taken necessary steps to neutralize enemy firing points.
It has to be kept in mind that reports on the alleged damage to civilian objects on the territory of Armenia are lies spread solely for disinformation purposes. The military-political leadership of Armenia, true to their traditions, continues to spread false information in order to mislead the Armenian public and the international community,” the press release says.
In the light of the foregoing, the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan called on the military-political leaders of Armenia to refrain from adventurous actions, provocations and deliberate aggravation of the situation on the state border of the two countries and start negotiations on the delimitation of the state border.
“We reiterate that the responsibility for the escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border lies entirely with the military-political leadership of Armenia.
Currently, the operational situation in this direction is under the control of our units.
To ensure the inviolability of the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, all provocations of Armenia will be resolutely suppressed,” the Azerbaijani military department emphasized. –06D-

Night battle on the border, the Armenians have three dead
Baki/28.07.21/Turan: Armenia armed forces units continue to commit provocations on the Kalbajar section of the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border.
On July 28, starting from about 00:50 the Armenian armed forces units from the combat positions located in various directions in the territory of the Basarkechar region using small arms and grenade launchers have once again subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijan Army in the territory of the Kalbajar region.
As a result of shelling, Azerbaijan Army’s two servicemen, Aliyev Sadig Nizami and Imranli Imran Dilgam were wounded. The servicemen were provided with urgent medical assistance. There is no danger to their life.
The Azerbaijan Army Units stationed in this direction are undertaking adequate retaliatory actions.
We reaffirm that Armenia bears full responsibility for the escalation of tensions along the state border between the two countries.
In turn, the Armenian side reported three dead and two wounded. The Armenian Foreign Ministry issued a statement threatening to use all military-political measures in response to the “aggression” of Azerbaijan.
