Turkish armed forces kill 35 terrorists

Turkish Armed Forces killed 35 terrorists of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) during a special operation carried out in the country’s southeast, Dogan agency reported July 30 citing Turkey’s General Staff.

Twenty-three terrorists were killed during an air attack, while four terrorists were killed during the military’s ground strikes in the Hakkari province. Meanwhile, eight terrorist were neutralized in the country’s Bayburt province.

On July 29, five servicemen were killed and other five were wounded during an attack by PKK militants in the Hakkari province.

The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has continued for over 25 years and has claimed more than 40,000 lives. The UN and the European Union list the PKK as a terrorist organization.
