Turkmenistan and Austria Explore Enhanced Bilateral Ties


VIENNA—Turkmenistan and Austria are actively discussing ways to deepen their bilateral relations, focusing on political, economic, and cultural cooperation, according to a recent meeting held at Austria’s Federal Ministry for European and Foreign Affairs.



According to Trend News Agency, the Turkmen delegation, led by discussions with Gerhard Sailer, the Director of the Department curating the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, Eastern Partnership, Türkiye, and Central Asia, addressed various aspects of collaboration between the two nations. The discussions highlighted the potential for growing political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian ties, aiming to enhance the partnership between Turkmenistan and Austria.



Additionally, the meeting touched upon cooperation within international frameworks, particularly regarding support for each other’s candidates in elections to the United Nations and other international bodies. This collaboration underscores the mutual interest in strengthening diplomatic ties on a global scale.



Both parties have agreed to continue their dialogue through further political consultations between their foreign ministries, scheduled for the first quarter of 2025. This continued engagement is expected to further cement the relationship between Turkmenistan and Austria, opening doors for enhanced cooperation across various sectors.
