US, UK, S. Korea finish ‘high-intensity’ drills

United States, United Kingdom and South Korea ended two days of military exercises on Thursday, the South Korean Marine Corps said. The infiltration drills in this format have not been held since 2018, APA reports citing Yonhap.

The exercises were “high intensity,” according to South Korea, and included British Royal Marines Commandos for the first time. “This exercise served as an opportunity for South Korean, US and British Marine reconnaissance troops to share each of their skills and strengthen their mission capabilities through realistic training,” South Korean unit commander Kim Cheol-myoung said. In addition, South Korea and the US held live-fire exercises 30 km away from the Demilitarized Zone on the border between North and South Korea.
