TASHKENT — A recent meeting between Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, and a delegation from RothschildandCo, led by Arielle Malard de Rothschild, marked a pivotal discussion on advancing cooperation in various sectors, including energy and finance.
According to Trend News Agency, the talks centered on Uzbekistan’s ongoing economic reforms, notably the transition to market principles in the energy sector, enhancements in the banking and financial systems, and the privatization of state-owned banks. Both parties reviewed the transformation processes in the mining industry and exchanged experiences related to bank privatization.
The meeting builds on a 2022 agreement between Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy and Rothschild and Co., appointing the latter as strategic consultants. This partnership aims to analyze and attract investment to Uzbekistan’s promising energy projects through project financing, loans, and direct investments.
