Vice premier of China’s State Council to visit Azerbaijan

Vice Premier of State Council of the People’s Republic of China Zhang Gaoli will arrive in Russia on May 30 to take part in the Russian-Chinese energy dialogue, RIA Novosti reported May 23 citing Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying as saying.

Chunying noted that the vice premier will also visit Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.

“At the invitation of Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, as well as at the invitation of the Azerbaijani, Georgian and Armenian governments, vice premier of State Council of the People’s Republic of China will take part from May 30 to June 7 in the 13th meeting of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on energy cooperation, in the second Russian-Chinese forum of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as will visit Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia,” she said at a briefing.

Dvorkovich, who is the commission’s co-chair from the Russian side, said in March that Russia and China will discuss the western route of Russian gas supply during the energy dialogue, which is to be held in May in Sochi, Russia.

Meanwhile, Dvorkovich didn’t exclude that Russia and China during a meeting in May can adjust the timing of the implementation of power projects.
