On March 30, 2021, a meeting has been held between Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif within the framework of the 9th “Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process” Ministerial conference, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
Ministers have conducted an exchange of views on the issues on current bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran.
The sides have highly appreciated the results of the latest meeting of the State Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in economic, trade, and humanitarian fields, held in the current year.
The Ministers also discussed regional security issues, in particular the situation in the region after the 44-day war and the issues regarding the implementation of signed trilateral statements. Views were exchanged on conducting reconstruction and restoration works in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Iranian Minister Javad Zarif noted that Iranian companies are ready to participate in demining and reconstruction works in the liberated territories.
The parties also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif has met in Dushanbe, noted in the Twitter account of the Iranian government, APA reports.
It has been noted that the meeting has been held within the framework of the 9th “Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process” Ministerial Conference.
Heads of MFAs have discussed the latest situation in the Caucasus region, mutual cooperation in the Caspian Sea, other mutually-interested issues in the economic and political fields at the meeting.
