Azerbaijan’s FM exchanges views with his Serbian counterpart on international and regional issues

On September 25, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic as part of his participation in the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the Foreign Ministry told APA.

During the meeting, the ministers expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Serbia and said both sides were interested in developing this cooperation in various fields.

The parties noted the successful development of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia.

They also discussed preparations for the 60th anniversary of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade.

The sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest.

Verdict read to Falig Valiyev who arrested in Russia and extradited

The trial on the criminal case of Falig Valiyev, accused of fighting and participating in illegal armed groups abroad, has ended, APA reports.

The verdict has been read in the Ganja Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by Judge Nural Aliyev.

According to the verdict, he has been sentenced to 8 years in prison.

Peacekeepers in Karabakh will have a new commander: Kosobokov will be appointed to higher position

Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin was appointed the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, Spunik-Armenia reports.

A meeting of the leadership of the defense department of the republic with a delegation of the Ministry of Defense of Russia took place in the administrative complex of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

During the meeting, the leadership of the Armenian Defense Ministry was introduced to the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Gennady Anashkin.

The first commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh was Rustam Muradov. His mission completed recently, and he was briefly replaced by Major General Mikhail Kosobokov. Now the baton passes to Gennady Anashkin.

Gennady Vladimirovich Anashkin was born in 1968 in Kuibyshev (now Samara). In 1987 he was drafted into the army, served in Germany. Later he graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School. Since 1998, he served in the 116th separate paratrooper battalion, commander of a company.

From December 1999 to August 2000, Anashkin served in the former Yugoslavia, where he commanded an airborne battalion as part of the peacekeeping forces in the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Anashkin graduated from the Combined Arms Academy of the Russian Armed Forces in 2003. He was on business trips in Chechnya during the first and second Chechen wars.

Since June 2007, he headed the 104th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment (76th Guards Airborne Assault Division). The group under the command of Anashkin took part in hostilities in 2008 in South Ossetia.

During the meeting, the new commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh Lieutenant-General Gennady Anashkin has been introduced to the leadership of the Armenian Defence Ministry.

Azerbaijani-Turkish exercise continues in Nakhchivan

Azerbaijan-Turkey joint combat tactical exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood – 2021” continues in Nakhchivan, APA reports.

According to the training scenario, measures are taken to jointly plan operations in accordance with the military decision-making process.

Public transport not to run in Azerbaijan from today until September 27

Public transport will not operate in Azerbaijan from today until 06:00 a.m on September 27, APA reports.

According to the decision made by the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, from 00:00 a.m on September 25 until 06:00 a.m on September 27 public transport, as well as Baku Metro, will not operate in the country.
