Minister: Revenues from non-oil sector increased by 48.9%

“In the first quarter of 2022, tax revenues increased by 34.4%, compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2 billion 802,191 thousand manats, whilst the forecast was fulfilled at 123.8%,” Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov said on Twitter.

“Revenues from the non-oil sector increased by 48.9% to 2 billion 249,381 thousand manats, and the forecast was fulfilled by 128.6%,” the minister tweeted.

Azerbaijan to auction AG Bank’s property

BAKU, Azerbaijan, The immovable property of Azerbaijan’s NBC Bank OJSC, which is being liquidated, will be put up for auction at the Center for Organization of Auctions in Baku on April 27, Trend reports via the Azerbaijan Deposit Insurance Fund.

The bank’s immovable property is a land plot with an area of1,000 square meters in Dalghaly village, Khachmaz district.

The starting price is 31,500 manat ($18,530).

Five percent of the sale price must be paid to the organizer of the auction. The purchase price must be paid by the buyer within seven calendar days.

Azerbaijan supplies 2.9 bcm of gas to Europe in 2022

“This year, Azerbaijan has supplied 2.9 bcm of gas to Europe,” Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said on Twitter.

Since the commissioning of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), this figure has exceeded 11 bcm, Minister Shahbazov added.

Georgia eyes sending trade mission to Kazakhstan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Georgia plans to organize a business forum in Kazakhstan in the nearest future, Chairman of Kazakh-Georgian Economic Union said, Trend reports via Georgian media.

“It is important to organize a trade mission to Kazakhstan in order to show local importers the opportunities on Georgian market,” the chairman said.

Meanwhile, business forum between Georgia and Kazakhstan was held in Georgia’s Tbilisi from April 6 through April 8, 2022.

About 30 Kazakh and more than 100 Georgian companies participated in the forum. The members of the delegation held B2B meetings with the representatives of the Georgian business sector. The parties signed several export contracts as well.

The forum aimed at deepening economic and trade relations between Kazakhstan and Georgia by establishing new partnerships. Kazakh Trade and Economic Mission to Georgia is organized by the Kazakh Center for Trade Policy Development (QazTrade), and supported by Kazakh-Georgian Economic Union.

Presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland arrive in Kyiv

Presidents of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland arrived in Kyiv, Office of the President of Poland said, APA reports.

Presidents were welcomed by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmigal.

Lithuanian President Kitanas Nauseda, Latvian President Egils Levits and Polish President Andrzej Duda left for Kiev, Lithuanian President wrote on Twitter, APA reports.

“We are sending a message to Kiev with strong political support and military assistance. Lithuania will continue to support Ukraine’s struggle for its sovereignty and freedom,” said Kitanas Nauseda.

Azerbaijan, EU discuss prospects for cultural cooperation

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture Anar Karimov has met with Head of Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of and future prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU in the field of culture, the ongoing international projects, as well as the new realities emerged in the region following the liberation of Azerbaijan’s occupied territories.

Minister Anar Karimov hailed the high-level cooperation between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Culture and the EU in various fields, particularly in the humanitarian and cultural spheres.

Touching upon the demining works carried out in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, Karimov expressed his gratitude to EU for its valuable contribution to the process.

The minister also provided an insight into the Baku Process initiative put forward by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, highlighting Azerbaijan’s contributions to intercultural and interreligious dialogue at the global level.

Karimov mentioned that the “Peace for culture” global campaign, supported by the Islamic World Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), aims at preserving cultural heritage and ensuring regional peace. He also invited the EU to join the campaign, as well as other initiatives implemented by the ministry.

Head of EU Delegation Peter Michalko noted that the EU attaches great importance to the Azerbaijan-EU joint cultural projects and emphasized the successful development of bilateral cooperation.

The sides also discussed the future prospects for cooperation and other issues of mutual interest.
