Global daily oil production to exceed indicator of latest two years-FORECAST

Energy Information Administration under the US Ministry of Energy has increased its outlook on daily global production of hydrocarbons for 2022-2023, APA-Economics reports citing EIA.

The average daily global production of hydrocarbons is expected to be 102,1 mln. barrels next year which is 0.5 mln. barrels more than the previous forecast.

According to report, daily production of hydrocarbons will be 100,08 mln. barrels in 2022, which is 0.19 mln. barrels more than the previous forecast.

Remind that average daily global production of hydrocarbons was 95,57 mln. barrels last year. Daily production in 2020 made up 93.84 mln. barrels. The indicator was 100,61 mln. barrels in 2019.

Taking into account the EIA data, it can be concluded that daily global production of hydrocarbons will exceed pre-pandemic level next year.

Azerbaijan mostly visited by tourists from Turkiye, Russia and Iran

The State Tourism Agency announced the number of foreigners arriving in Azerbaijan last month, APA reports citing the agency.

According to the information, 137,491 foreigners arrived in the country in May, which is 166 percent more compared to the corresponding period last year. Thus, in May 2021, 51,637 foreigners visited the country.

In January-May this year, the number of foreigners visiting the country was 468,170, which is 118 percent more than in the same period last year. In January-April 2021, 214,628 foreigners entered Azerbaijan.

Turkiye (32,726), Russia (28,824), Iran (16,139), Saudi Arabia (8,671), and Georgia (6,314) rank the top five countries with the highest number of foreigners.

Zakharova comments on Zelenskyy’s desire to conduct negotiations with Putin

“It is needed to check again the statements made by Kyiv,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova while commenting on the readiness of the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksyy to conduct negotiations with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, APA reports citing Sputnik radio.

She called Zelenskyy’s words “a text written by someone”.

Norway donates 22 howitzers to Ukraine

Norway donated 22 self-propelled howitzers to Ukraine, including spare parts, ammunition and other gear, the Norwegian defence ministry said on Wednesday, APA reports citing USnews.

“The Norwegian government has waited to publicly announce the donation for security reasons. Future donations may not be announced or commented upon,” it said in a statement.

Azerbaijan sharply decreases losses in oil pipelines

In the first quarter of this year, Azerbaijan has seen a loss of 0.6 thousand tonnes in oil pipelines, which is 25% less in annual comparison, State Statistics Committee told APA-Economics.

Losses in oil pipelines over the Republic made up 0.8 thousand tonnes in the corresponding period of the last year.

Train crash in Iran kills at least 17

A passenger train partially derailed in eastern Iran early Wednesday, killing at least 17 people and injuring 50 more, including some critically, the authorities said, APA reports citing Nytimes.

Initial details about the disaster involving the train, which was reportedly carrying about 350 passengers, remained unclear, but there were fears that the number of casualties could rise.

Up to five of the seven railway carriages derailed – some reports suggest that the accident was caused by a collision with an excavator which had been left on the railway tracks.

“At 5:30 this morning, the Mashhad-Yazd passenger train derailed on the Tabas axis, and unfortunately five people died in this accident,” a statement from Iran’s central emergency department said.

According to a spokesman for the department, 15 people are in critical condition and about 50 people were injured. Two Red Crescent aid teams and two helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
