A report entitled “Humanitarian consequences of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan” will be heard at PACE Autumn Session, a debate will be conducted in this regard,” APA’s bureau in Britain reports.

The report has been prepared by the Rapporteur of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons Paul Gavan (Ireland).

Frederick Starr awarded Friendship order

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to award Frederick Starr with the Friendship order, APA reports.

According to the Order, Frederick Starr was awarded the Order of Friendship for his special contribution to the development of political and scientific relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States.

Azerbaijani MFA extends condolences to Pakistan over casualties as a result of natural disaster

Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has extended condolences to Pakistan over casualties as a result of natural disaster, MFA wrote on Twitter, APA reports.

“News on death of at least 20 people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan saddened us. We express our condolences to the families of those killed as a result of torrential monsoon rains and mudslides and wish speedy recovery to the injured,” MFA noted.

Azerbaijani and Turkish Special Forces, arriving for exercise, to be exempted from mutual visa

Purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding “On exercise of Special Forces of Azerbaijani Army and Turkish Armed Forces between Government of Azerbaijan and Government of the Republic of Turkey” is determination of general principles and procedures on establishment of activity fields of the exercise and articles regarding dislocation, implementation period, and change stages of the dislocation of the exercise, presented by the country, hosting the forces or supported by the hosting country, it has been reflected in the draft law “On confirmation of Memorandum of Understanding “On exercise of Special Forces of Azerbaijani Army and Turkish Armed Forces between Government of Azerbaijan and Government of the Republic of Turkey””, APA reports.

According to the draft law, the memorandum of understanding was signed on the basis of the provisions of the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on mutual military training and education” dated August 11, 1992 and “Agreement on military training, technical and scientific cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey” dated June 10, 1996 agreement signed between parties.

During the training, while being in the territory of the host country, all issues regarding criminal jurisdiction that may be occurred and the power to impose disciplinary sanctions are regulated with the clauses of the agreement dated August 11, 1992, and deal dated June 10, 1996.

Forces of the sending country are exempted from the visa requirements while coming to the territory of the host country and leaving the territory of the host country, and procedures for registration and control of foreigners in the host country. The sending country sends information to the host country regarding the personnel and supply at least 60 days before their arrival with the appropriate form.

Agenda of the PACE autumn session announced

Agenda of the PACE autumn session has been announced, APA’s Britain bureau reports.

A high-level panel and interactive debate on “The environment and human rights: the right to a safe, healthy and sustainable environment”, as well as a full day of debates on this topic, forms the centrepiece of the Autumn Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), taking place in Strasbourg from 27 to 30 September 2021 in a hybrid format.

VIPs due to address the Assembly during session week include European Council President Charles Michel, European Health and Food Safety Commissioner Stella Kyriakides and North Macedonia’s Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov. Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto will present the Communication from the Committee of Ministers, which he currently chairs, while Council of Europe Secretary General Marija Pejcinovic Buric will hold her usual Q&A session with members.

Georgia records 48 coronavirus related deaths over past day

Georgia has confirmed 946 fresh coronavirus cases, 48 deaths, APA’s Georgian bureau reports citing the special state-run stopcov.ge website created in the framework of the fight against coronavirus.

The number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has reached 581 815 in Georgia.

The death toll reached 8 233.

545 961 people recovered.
