Armenian armed forces subjected to fire the positions of the Azerbaijan Army

On August 19 starting from 17:24 to 00:25 August 20 the Armenian armed forces units from the positions in the Khanazakh settlement of the Gorus region in the Ashaghi Zaghali settlement of the Basarkechar region and Chinarli settlement of the Berd region using small arms periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army positions in the direction of the Jaghazur settlement of the Lachin region, Istisu settlement of the Kalbajar region and Asrik Jirdakhan settlement of the Tovuz region, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

Moreover, on August 20 starting from 01:23, illegal Armenian armed detachments in the territory of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeepers are temporally deployed, using small arms periodically subjected to fire the Azerbaijan Army Units positions stationed in the vicinity of the Khalfali settlement of the city of Shusha.

The opposing side was suppressed by retaliation fire.

There are no losses among the military personnel of the Azerbaijan Army.

Currently, the situation in this direction is stable, the Azerbaijan Army Units control the operational situation.

A helicopter involved in extinguishing fire in mountainous area of Azerbaijan’s Oguz

A fire broke out in a mountainous area near the village of Khachmaz, Oguz region, press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told APA.

Fire protection units of the MES’s State Fire Protection Service and one helicopter of the Aviation Detachment were involved in firefighting.

Measures are being taken to extinguish the fire.

Another group of drug dealers neutralized, a large amount of opium seized

During a joint operation of employees of the State Customs Service and the Office for Combating Drug Trafficking of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a criminal group of drug dealers was neutralized, the State Customs Committee said on August 20.

Thus, while trying to sell a large consignment of drugs (about 9 kg of opium), a member of the group, Mohammed Mammadov, was detained. His partner Parvin Rzayev escaped while driving.

On August 4, another member of the group, Musazade Rovshan, was detained in the Yasamal district of Baku, and the next day Parvin Rzayev himself was detained in the city of Shirvan. The drugs seized from them were smuggled into the country from Iran.

A lawsuit was initiated on the fact under several Articles of the Criminal Code; all members of the group were arrested.
