Baku: Sixteen Azerbaijani citizens recently repatriated from Syria have received initial medical and psychosocial assistance after being accommodated at a social service institution under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. According to Azeri-Press news agency, the group includes nine children and seven women who were returned to Azerbaijan by the government.

The Ministry reported that the repatriated individuals are currently undergoing rehabilitation. Once the process is completed, they will be sent to their homes. Following their return, social workers and psychologists from the Agency will visit their residences to conduct detailed assessments.

In recent years, the Social Services Agency has extended social rehabilitation services to over 600 people repatriated to Azerbaijan. Presently, rehabilitation efforts are ongoing for 84 repatriates.
