Baku: Azerbaijani authorities have detained 29 individuals for state border violations over the past month, highlighting ongoing security challenges. Among those apprehended were 17 foreign nationals attempting to cross the border using forged documents, including fake date stamps and passports, or by presenting documents that belonged to other individuals.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Press Center of the State Border Service reported that the detainees included 12 Azerbaijani, 4 Iranian, 3 Bangladeshi, 3 Pakistani, 2 Georgian, 1 Filipino, 1 Sri Lankan, 1 Uzbek, 1 Tajik, and 1 Turkish citizen. These detentions underscore the diverse nationalities involved in border violations and the complexities faced by Azerbaijani border security.
