Baku: In 2025, a comprehensive analysis of seismic activity was conducted using digital data across Azerbaijan. By December 25, 2025, a total of 5,543 underground tremors were recorded within Azerbaijan, and 8,993 in the broader region including adjacent areas, as stated by Professor Gurban Yetirmishli at a joint meeting of the Department of Earth Sciences of ANAS and the Republican Seismological Service Center.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Professor Yetirmishli highlighted that 19 earthquakes were felt in Azerbaijan and the surrounding regions. In total, 75 underground tremors with a magnitude exceeding 3 were recorded throughout the year. Furthermore, seismic stations documented 2,400 underground explosions during this period.
