Baku: The agencies involved in mine clearance operations in the territories liberated from occupation have released information on activities carried out last week (20.07.2026 - 26.07.2026), the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) told APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 173 anti-personnel mines, 39 anti-tank mines, and 753 items of unexploded ordnance (UXO) were detected in the liberated territories during the past week. These findings underscore the ongoing efforts and challenges faced in clearing these areas of hazardous remnants of war.
ANAMA reported that a total of 1740.7 hectares of land were successfully cleared of mines and UXO, marking a significant step towards ensuring the safety and rehabilitation of these regions. The mine clearance operations are crucial for the safe resettlement of displaced populations and the revival of economic activities in the affected territories.
