Baku: A total of 3,439 people have been evacuated from the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan between 08:00 on February 28 and 10:00 on April 11. Among those evacuated, 612 are Azerbaijani citizens.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the evacuation operation saw a significant number of foreign nationals among those relocated, including 735 citizens from China, 374 from Russia, and 198 from Bangladesh. Other notable groups include 284 from India, 192 from Tajikistan, 151 from Pakistan, and 84 from Oman. Smaller groups from countries like Indonesia, Iran, Algeria, and Italy were also part of the evacuation.
Additionally, the operation included citizens from various other countries, with the count ranging from as high as 68 individuals from Indonesia to as low as one from countries such as Tunisia, South Africa, and the Vatican. This large-scale evacuation effort highlights the international coordination involved in safely relocating individuals from a region experiencing tensions.
