Baku: On July 31, the 3rd meeting of the Interstate Council of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan was held in the city of Cholpon-Ata with the participation of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov. The meeting marked a significant step in the diplomatic relations between the two countries, with discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation and strategic partnerships.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, President Sadyr Zhaparov addressed the gathering, expressing his warm welcome to President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani delegation. He emphasized the historical and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan and commended Azerbaijan's development under Aliyev's leadership. Zhaparov highlighted the mutual respect and trust that underpin the relationship between the two nations, stating there are no unresolved issues that could hinder their strategic partnership.

Zhaparov further noted the potential for Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan to expand cooperation in areas such as transport, energy, investment, security, and education. He expressed optimism that the talks would result in agreements fostering bilateral ties and improving the welfare of both peoples. A significant outcome of the meeting was the anticipated signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations, underscoring the commitment to joint development and common goals.
