43 People Held Accountable for Riots During Fenerbah§e-Galatasaray Derby


Istanbul: On April 2, in the quarter-finals of the Turkish Cup, Fenerbah§e lost 1-2 at home to Galatasaray, Apasport.az reports. During this high-stakes match held at Ulker Stadium, 43 individuals were held accountable for causing riots and violating regulations.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, among the 52,152 spectators present at the match, these 43 individuals faced charges related to “inciting riots,” “damaging property,” “shouting offensive and insulting slogans,” and “illegally entering the sports field and carrying prohibited items.” Notably, four of these individuals were specifically accused of lighting flares during the match, adding to the chaos.



The derby concluded with “Cimbom” securing a 2-1 victory, which allowed them to advance to the semifinals, marking a significant achievement in their Turkish Cup journey.
