Baku: Around 43 percent of medical centers in Azerbaijan are currently unfit for service, the Chairman of the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance, Zaur Aliyev, has revealed.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Aliyev made the statement during a joint meeting of the Milli Majlis committees on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology, Labor and Social Policy, Healthcare, International Relations, and Interparliamentary Relations. The session focused on discussions related to the draft ‘2026 State Budget’ law.

Out of approximately 2,500 medical centers across the country, nearly half are considered inadequate to provide proper medical care. This situation underscores the urgent need for improvements in Azerbaijan’s healthcare infrastructure.
