Baku: The 51st Annual Meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group have officially commenced in Baku, bringing together senior officials from member countries, representatives of the public and private sectors, and international financial institutions. The event, centered around the theme 'Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity,' is set to feature various meetings and sessions focused on crucial economic and developmental topics.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the first day of the meetings will witness sessions within the framework of the 14th Private Sector Forum. Key topics include the development of the halal economy, ethical and sustainable financing, the green transition of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), regional integration, and investment opportunities. Additionally, meetings of the governing bodies of several organizations within the IsDB Group will take place.
The event is organized under the high patronage of His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO). It includes the HELF/AZHAB Forum 2026, the 8th Sustainable Development Goals Dialogue titled 'Innovative Financing for Sustainable Development,' and discussions on Azerbaijan's investment prospects. A dialogue with the Minister of Finance, Budget, Economy, Planning, and International Cooperation of the Republic of Chad is also scheduled.
The meetings will also feature a session titled 'Youth Without Borders: Advancing Shared Regional Prosperity' and gatherings of the governing bodies of the Islamic Development Bank Group, the Association of Development Financing Institutions in Member Countries (ADFIMI), and the Federation of Consultants from Islamic Countries (FOCIC). The discussions aim to bolster economic cooperation, expand investment opportunities, and promote sustainable development priorities among the 57 member countries of the IsDB Group. The Annual Meetings are set to continue until June 19.
