Baku: 53,500 participants were registered at the World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13) held in Baku, Anar Guliyev, National Coordinator of WUF13 and Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, announced at the official closing press conference.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, approximately 50,000 participants attended the forum in person, while more than 3,000 joined the event online. Anar Guliyev highlighted that the forum featured over 400 main events, with around 400 speakers from 125 countries contributing to the main program.
Guliyev also emphasized the significance of the Leaders' Declaration session, an innovation in WUF history initiated by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev. The session was attended by 27 heads of state and government, along with leaders of international organizations, who showed political support for the global urban agenda.
