Baku: A total of 553 individuals were successfully evacuated from Iran through the Azerbaijani border from 08:00 on February 28 to 20:00 on March 2.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the evacuees included 152 Azerbaijani citizens, 127 Chinese nationals, 114 Russians, 65 Pakistanis, and 42 Tajiks.
In addition, the evacuation effort facilitated the safe passage of 18 Saudi Arabian, 6 UAE, 4 Jordanian, 3 Qatari, and 3 Bangladeshi citizens. Other evacuees comprised 2 Filipinos, 2 Georgians, 2 Nepalese, 2 Kazakhs, 2 French, and 2 Uzbek nationals. Citizens from Trkiye, Italy, Poland, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, and Brazil were also part of this operation, with each country having one national evacuated.
The evacuation process remains active, ensuring the safety of Azerbaijani and foreign nationals. From February 28 to March 2, a total of 370 people were evacuated, including 131 Azerbaijani citizens and 239 foreign nationals. These efforts highlight the ongoing commitment to assist those seeking to leave Iran via Azerbaijan.
