5th World Ethnosport Forum under motto “Reviving Traditional Sports” wraps up in Baku

The 5th Ethnosport Forum under the motto “Reviving Traditional Sports” has today wrapped up in Baku.

The closing ceremony first featured the presentation of the 4th Traditional Sports Awards of the World Ethnosport Confederation.

It was noted that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was presented the “Leadership Award” within the Traditional Sports Awards of the World Ethnosport Confederation for his services in global recognition and increasing the popularization of ethnosports and games, his leadership, selfless approach to the development of traditional sports, and his constant active support for sports and athletes.

Following the award ceremony, the closing ceremony was held.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov noted that fruitful discussions were held on the sidelines of the two-day forum. Hailing the importance of such forums in terms of the development of ethnosports, Gayibov underlined the necessity of organizing such events on a regular basis. He thanked President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan for supporting the organization of the event in Baku.
