6.5-magnitude earthquake hits Alaska

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Monday that Alaska was hit by a 6.5 magnitude earthquake, APA reports citing TASS.

The earthquake hit at a depth of 46 km, but no tsunami warnings have been issued yet.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 114 km of Chignik, Alaska. The earthquake was followed by several mid-size tremors in the surrounding area.
