Baku: The Baku City Prosecutor’s Office recently convened an extensive operational meeting to discuss the progress in crime-fighting efforts, investigative work, and prosecutorial control during the first half of 2025. The meeting focused on evaluating the steps taken and the challenges ahead in maintaining law and order in the city.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Baku City Prosecutor Elshan Abbasov highlighted the impact of President Ilham Aliyev’s policies on the progress and development of various societal sectors, reinforcing the country’s sovereignty. The meeting offered a comprehensive overview of the collaborative efforts between the Baku City Prosecutor’s Office and other law enforcement agencies aimed at combating crime and enhancing citizen satisfaction.

The data revealed that 7,549 criminal cases were registered by the prosecutor’s office and the internal affairs bodies of Baku in the first half of 2025, with a resolution rate of 92.6%. The meeting also noted the successful resolution of all 12 intentional homicides committed in the city during this period, attributed to the effective collaboration with Baku’s internal affairs bodies.
