Baku:The 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, under the theme 'Dialogue for a Shared Future,' included a significant plenary session titled 'Tourism for a Shared Future How Inclusion, Equity and Community Leadership Are Quietly Building Peace.' This session focused on the role of tourism in fostering inclusion, enhancing social connections, and supporting peacebuilding by broadening participation and empowering communities to create fairer and more resilient societies.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the session was organized in partnership with the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) and Azerbaijan's State Tourism Agency. It aimed to explore the conditions under which tourism can contribute to positive peace, particularly through community leadership initiatives involving women, young people, Indigenous communities, rural populations, and people with disabilities.

The discussion was structured around the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, its Sustainable Development Goals, and the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism. It included examples from different regions that highlighted practical, community-led initiatives.
