82% of households in Azerbaijan to face inflation

The dynamics of actual inflation in Azerbaijan had its effect on inflation expectations. According to December surveys, 81.9% of households expect inflation.

 

This is reported by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) on the main directions of monetary policy for 2023.

 

The report says that “22.4% of respondents believe that the rate of inflation will grow. According to the results of monitoring among the enterprises of the real sector, inflation expectations reduced for 11 months on average as compared to the same period of the last year in the non-oil industry and construction, as well as in the trade and services,” the CBA said in a statement.

 

The consumer price index in Azerbaijan over January-November 2022 amounted to 113.8% as compared to the same period of the last year, including 119.5% for food, beverages and tobacco products, 108.3% for non-food products, 110.4% for paid services provided to the population.

 

At that, in November, the consumer price index was 101% as compared to October and 115.1% as compared to November of the previous year.
