About 10 hectares of land in Garadagh district of Baku to be purchased for state needs

By вecision of the Cabinet Ministers from 5 November, 9.9185 hectares of privately-owned lands located within the boundaries of the land plot defined as a territory of “Alyat Free Economic Zone” in the administrative territory of Garadagh district of Baku are bought for state needs.

The Ministry of Economy has been assigned to submit its proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers on irrevocable, gratuitous and permanent use by the authorized body of the Alyat Free Economic Zone of state lands located within the boundaries defined as the AFEZ territory.

The order does not contain information on the owners of the state-owned lands to be purchased for state needs. Although it states that an appropriate land management plan is attached, this document is not available.

Worthy of note is that the recently unannounced government decree replaced several hectares of land of JSC “Ələt Ağac Emalı”, located within the boundaries of the land plot defined as the AFEZ territory with a proportional land plot in the Perekishkiul village of Absheron region. The JSC shareholders claim that no monetary compensation has been allocated for the relocation of the immovable property.

Recall that the AFEZ covers an area of about 850 hectares, distributed over three zones. Zone 1 (198 ha), Zone 2 (441 ha) and Zone 3 (211 ha) are in the immediate vicinity of the Baku International Sea Trade Port, close to international rail and road connections.
