Actor Robert Carradine Dies at Age 71

Los angeles: Actor Robert Carradine, best known for his roles in "The Long Riders," "Revenge of the Nerds," and "Lizzie McGuire," has died at the age of 71. He took his own life after a prolonged struggle with Bipolar Disorder, a condition he battled for two decades, as confirmed by his older brother Keith Carradine.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Robert Carradine was born in 1954 and initiated his acting career as a teenager. His early roles included appearances in the TV series "The Cowboys" in 1974 and the TV movie "The Hatfields and the McCoys" in 1975. Throughout his career, he appeared in films such as "Coming Home," "Mean Streets," and "The Long Riders," the latter of which became a family affair as it featured his brothers Keith and David Carradine.

Carradine gained widespread recognition with his starring role in the 1984 hit film "Revenge of the Nerds," where he portrayed the character Lewis Skolnick. The movie's success led to several sequels in which Carradine reprised his role throughout the 1990s. A beloved member of the Carradine acting dynasty, Robert was considered the bedrock of his family.
