Baku: In 2025, a total of $39.38 million has been allocated to various regional technical assistance projects involving Azerbaijan within the framework of cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the projects primarily focus on areas such as green energy and energy transmission, climate action, sustainable financing, agriculture and food security, digitalization of the transport and railway sector, decarbonization of the heating supply sector, urban development, labor market, and the preparation of public-private partnership projects.
Within this framework, the regional technical assistance project titled 'Accelerating climate action, innovation, and private sector development through sector operations' has been granted a budget of $14.8 million. Additionally, $5 million has been allocated for an operational advisory services project on public-private partnership and other project preparations, $3 million for agriculture and food security, $3.12 million for a program to enhance the capacity of sovereign institutions to implement innovative financing methods, $2.1 million for green and sustainable urban development, and $2 million for strengthening mechanisms to respond to gender-based violence.
Under other technical assistance projects, financial support is also provided for initiatives related to energy cooperation, foreign exchange reserve management, digital and artificial intelligence solutions in agriculture, expansion of the Baku Metro, the Baku green corridor, digitalization of the railway sector, and public debt management.
