BAKU: Azerbaijan Railways JSC is making significant strides in reducing carbon emissions, as highlighted by James Leder, director of transport at the Asian Development Bank, during the “Sustainable Transport for the Future” event, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Leder emphasized the role of expanding electricity use in cutting down fossil fuel reliance. The installation of solar panels in two main warehouses marks a critical step toward enhancing domestic electricity consumption. He assured that the Asian Development Bank is committed to supporting Azerbaijan Railways in transitioning from mining-based operations to electricity-based operations, thereby further reducing carbon emissions.
