Baku: A meeting was held at Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) with a delegation from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). The meeting discussed the development of Azerbaijan's transport infrastructure, strengthening regional connectivity, and prospects for expanding cooperation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, ADY Chairman Rovshan Rustamov emphasized that the AIIB's active partnership in the fields of transport infrastructure and regional connectivity in Azerbaijan has contributed to strengthening the country's transit potential and appreciated this cooperation.
It was noted during the meeting that the development of sustainable urban mobility and passenger transportation services is a key component of ADY's strategy. In 2025, more than 10 million passengers were transported via ADY's interregional and Absheron circular railway routes, reflecting the growing demand for reliable and sustainable public transportation.
The meeting highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation in the development of transport infrastructure, expansion of regional connectivity, and promotion of sustainable logistics solutions. The parties also held extensive discussions on future areas of cooperation between ADY and the AIIB.
