Baku: Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), a company within AZCON Holding, met with Lasha Abashidze, Director General of Georgian Railways JSC, Azerbaijan Railways told AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the meeting, both parties praised the level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia in the railway sector. They discussed strategies for increasing freight volumes and focused on optimizing tariffs and delivery times to enhance the efficiency of railway operations.
The meeting also involved an exchange of views on the ongoing development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line. It was highlighted that new agreements between BTKI Railways LLC and Georgian Railways JSC concerning the use of the Marabda-Akhalkalaki railway infrastructure and terminal services at the Akhalkalaki station are set to improve conditions for freight transportation along the BTK route.
