Baku: Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY), part of AZCON Holding, engaged in discussions with PACE Group, a prominent logistics entity in Georgia overseeing the terminal at the Port of Poti, as well as the Batumi Sea Port. ADY conveyed this information to APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions centered on the significance of enhancing cooperation between the logistics firms and seaports of Azerbaijan and Georgia. The ADY delegation reviewed port operations and learned that Batumi and Poti ports hold a strategic advantage in the Black Sea, with advanced infrastructure capable of handling various cargo types.
Rovshan Rustamov emphasized that Azerbaijan's railway-port activities are coordinated under a unified management system. The integration of the Baku International Sea Trade Port into ADY last year significantly improved the port's cargo handling, achieving a record of over 107,000 TEU of container cargo in 2025-a 40% increase from 2024.
The talks also underscored that enhancing cooperation and sharing expertise between Baku and Georgian ports would facilitate more effective transportation of increasing cargo volumes via the Middle Corridor.
