Agdam: The Agdam-Khankendi railway, an extension of the Barda-Agdam railway line, is poised to enhance passenger transportation in the Karabakh economic region by advancing the local transportation infrastructure, Azerbaijan Railways CJSC informed APA-Economics.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the design work for this 28-kilometer railway line has been finalized. The project will include the construction of the Askeran and Khojaly stations, as well as the Khankendi Railway and Bus Terminal Complex, which will be situated on the bank of the Qarqar River, covering an area of 6.4 hectares.
Furthermore, the ambitious project plans for the construction of two railway platforms and twelve bus stops within the vicinity of the five-story complex, thereby significantly enhancing the region’s transportation capabilities.
