Bishkek: Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev engaged in discussions with Konstantin Limitovskiy, Chief Investment Officer for Public Sector and Project and Corporate Finance Clients at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), to explore the bank’s potential investments in the sectors of energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and water supply in Kyrgyzstan.

According to Trend News Agency, Torobaev provided the AIIB representative with an overview of Kyrgyzstan’s recent economic progress and outlined several significant projects underway, including the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the Barskoon-Bedel expressway, and the Kambarata-1 hydropower plant, along with other social and industrial initiatives.

Both parties conducted a thorough assessment of the current AIIB projects in Kyrgyzstan and agreed on strategies to enhance their collaborative efforts toward achieving tangible results. They also emphasized the importance of maintaining strong communication channels to advance joint ventures effectively.

This meeting took place during President Sadyr Zhaparov’s official visit to China, spanning from August 31 to September 3. The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, headquartered in Beijing, began its operations in 2016 and has since expanded to include 110 approved member countries worldwide.
