Baku: Air passenger traffic in Azerbaijan increased by 5.5% in the first quarter of this year compared to the previous year, with a total of 912.6 thousand passengers transported by air.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this data was released in the monthly report by the State Statistical Committee.
In contrast, cargo transportation via air experienced a decline of 11.4% during the same period, with the total amount reaching 82 thousand tons. The report highlights a continuing trend from last year, where air passenger traffic saw a 2.9% increase, totaling 4,162.1 thousand passengers. Meanwhile, cargo transportation decreased by 6.6% in the previous year, amounting to 391.2 thousand tons.
