Baku: A total of 1.495 million passengers traveled by air in Azerbaijan from January to May 2025, marking a 7.3% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistics Committee reported that 99.9% of the passenger traffic was facilitated by state-owned carriers, with a mere 0.1% managed by private companies. Despite the rise in passenger numbers, cargo transportation by air saw a slight decline of 0.4%, amounting to 161,300 tons during the same timeframe.
