“Turkiye attaches importance to stability in the South Caucasus and makes great efforts to restore peace in the region,” said Turkish Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, APA’s Istanbul bureau reports.

He recalled that Azerbaijan liberated its lands from Armenian occupation for almost 30 years with the Patriotic war.

“Currently, the Turkish Armed Forces are providing modernization, training and educational support to the Azerbaijani army, and the demining process continues in the liberated areas. To date, more than 12,000 personnel have been trained, 4,500 ammunitions have been found and destroyed, and 284 square kilometers area has been cleared of mines,” he said.
