Aliyev and Erdogan opened international airport in Fizuli

Azerbaijani and Turkish Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan attended the opening ceremony of the Fizuli international airport today.

The Presidents cut the red ribbon together in front of the airpor, which is the first airport to be built in the areas liberated from Armenian occupation.

Aliyev and Erdogan demonstrated the symbolic keys of the “air gate” of Karabakh.

It ought to be noted that the international airport in Fizuli was built in the record-short time of 8 months.

Also, first passenger and cargo test flights took place from Baku on September 5.

The airport was awarded the international status.

The airport has a runway length of 3000 meters and a width of 60 meters.

The area of apron is 60.000 square meters, it is designed for parking of 8 aircrafts.

Note that two more airports in the liberated territories are being built in Zangilan and Lachin (at the junction of Lachin and Kelbajar regions).

Aliyev and Erdogan will attend the opening and groundbreaking ceremonies for a number of other infrastructure projects.
