As a result of necessary and urgent measures carried out by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) the fire occurred in mountainous-forested areas with complex terrain in the direction of Gasimqishlag, Gedikgishlag, and Velvele villages of Guba region was completely extinguished, said MES, APA reports.
Despite the hot and windy weather and the complexity of the terrain, the fire was not allowed to spread to wider areas thanks to the coordinated and effective application of forces.
It was noted that as a result of the fires that occurred in Siyazan, Shabran, Khachmaz and Guba districts, approximately 5000 hectares of forest and surrounding areas, pastures, and mowed fields burned. All the fires in the northern region were completely extinguished.
