Ambassador Highlights Azerbaijan’s Role in Evacuating Over 600 Chinese Citizens from Iran

Baku: Azerbaijan has provided significant support to Chinese citizens evacuated from Iran, said China's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, during a briefing held at the embassy, APA reports. The ambassador detailed the extensive measures taken to ensure the safe evacuation of Chinese nationals following military strikes by the US and Israel on Iran.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani government actively facilitated the evacuation process, enabling more than 600 Chinese citizens to successfully pass through the Astara state border checkpoint. The ambassador highlighted this cooperation as a testament to the strong political mutual trust between China and Azerbaijan.

Lu Mei expressed gratitude toward the Azerbaijani government for their support and assistance in the evacuation efforts. The ambassador's remarks underscored the diplomatic collaboration between the two nations during a critical time of need.
