Baku: Chinese companies are expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy, manufacturing and within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, China's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei, stated during a briefing held at the embassy, APA reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the ambassador noted that in recent years the quality and practical level of cooperation between China and Azerbaijan has significantly improved. Chinese companies are implementing many projects together with Azerbaijan in the fields of energy, industry and technology, which increases the efficiency and practical outcomes of cooperation between the two countries.

Lu Mei also stressed that China and Azerbaijan are advancing high-quality cooperation within the Belt and Road Initiative. Cooperation within this initiative strengthens economic integration and supports sustainable connectivity in the region. The Middle Corridor plays an important role in developing trade relations between China and Europe, and Azerbaijan ensures key cargo flows through this corridor, thereby contributing to the stability of global production and logistics chains. This cooperation serves to expand mutually beneficial projects between the two countries, deepen economic integration and ensure the successful implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.

It should be noted that the Belt and Road Initiative is a global project proposed by China, and Azerbaijan actively cooperates within this framework, with the country's geographic position holding strategic importance for interregional transit and trade.
