Baku: Iran remains open to dialogue while planning further augmentation of its defense capabilities, according to an exclusive interview conducted by APA with His Excellency Mojtaba Demirchilou, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan. Ambassador Demirchilou emphasized that Iran has shown any act of aggression against its territory or interests will result in significant costs to the aggressor.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Ambassador Demirchilou explained that none of the objectives set forth by the aggressor forces, including regime change and the neutralization of Iran's defensive capabilities, were realized. He highlighted that Iran's victory is measured not by slogans but by the realization of its principles, noting that Iran is stronger today than at the onset of the conflict despite human and material losses.
Ambassador Demirchilou addressed the issue of heavy casualties and the loss of prominent figures, stating that these factors are not seen as vulnerabilities but as consolidating internal unity. He explained that Iran's power structure is based on an institutional framework, allowing fundamental processes in defense, nuclear, and regional sectors to continue uninterrupted, thus safeguarding national independence and power.
The ambassador also discussed Iran's recent military operations, which included 100 waves of aerial strikes against targets in Israel and U.S. bases. These operations aimed to challenge the perception of impenetrability surrounding advanced air defense systems and were viewed as a strategic achievement that enhances Iran's deterrent capabilities.
On the subject of regional security, Ambassador Demirchilou confirmed that the ceasefire agreement includes Lebanon and any continued aggression against Lebanon would be considered a violation. He emphasized Iran's capacity to respond to military operations, stating that Iran's defensive potential relies on indigenous production and domestic infrastructure, ensuring flexibility and sustainability in confrontation scenarios.
Ambassador Demirchilou reiterated that Iran is not an instigator of war and remains ready for talks despite a lack of trust in the other side. He underscored the importance of strengthening defense capabilities, indicating that Iran's defensive posture has improved and will result in a more severe response if conflict resumes.
